The Higher Education Commission has announced Moroccan scholarships for Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir students.
These scholarships are facilitated by the Moroccan Agency of International Cooperation (AMCI).
It aims to provide educational opportunities for students at the undergraduate, master’s, and PhD levels in Moroccan Public Institutions of Higher Education.
The applicants must possess a valid HAT (Higher Education Aptitude Test) or USAT (Undergraduate Studies Aptitude Test) score.
For those lacking a valid HAT/USAT score, additional information is available on the Education Testing Council website.
The nomination criteria for master’s and PhD programmes are based on the HAT test score, while the criteria for bachelor’s programs rely on the USAT test score.
For undergraduate programs, applicants must have completed a minimum of 12 years of education (equivalent to FSC/A-level) and should not exceed 23 years of age.
For master’s programs, a minimum of 16 years of education in relevant fields of study is required.
For the PhD program, applicants must have a minimum of 18 years of education in the respective field of study from a recognized institution.
The candidates must fulfill the specific requirements set by the Moroccan universities.
The Moroccan Government has specified the following programs of study for the scholarships medical Studies, paramedical science, commercial and management science, engineering and technological science, agronomic and veterinary science, and architecture.
The applicants will be required to learn French as it is the primary language of instruction in many Moroccan training establishments
The students admitted to these institutions will be required to attend refresher courses in the French language during the academic year 2024-25.
Various centers, such as the Alliance Francaise and Center Culture Francals, will provide language training in the students’ home countries.
Courses in “Arabic Language and Literature” and “Islamic Studies” are taught in Arabic, and candidates for these courses must demonstrate proficiency in the Arabic language.
The option to study “Legal Science” is available in either Arabic or French.

HEC introduces Higher Education Aptitude Test for Scholarships and Postgrad Programmes
Candidates who are interested applicants to apply can visit the HEC portal.
The deadline for submitting online applications on the HEC portal is May 10, 2024.
The applicants should possess professional degrees including Medical, Engineering, Nursing, Architecture, Law, and Veterinary Medicine.
The chosen degrees should be accredited by the respective councils in Pakistan, such as the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Pakistan Council for Architects and Town Planners (PCATP), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC), and Pakistan Technology Council, among others.
The shortlisted candidates should provide a signed application form, attested copies of educational documents, a copy of the CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card), a letter of motivation, certificates validating outstanding academic performance and involvement in extracurricular and volunteering activities, a letter of recommendation highlighting the candidate’s qualities, a dissertation/thesis prepared for obtaining the master’s degree (for doctoral students), a non-criminal record (Police Clearance Certificate) issued within six months of the application deadline, and a medical certificate certifying satisfactory health condition.
In case of employment, applicants must also obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
