Two terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces during an intelligence based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan District on Sunday, the military’s media wing said.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that the operation was conducted on the reported presence of terrorists.
The two terrorists were identified as Faheem Nawaz, alias Gandapuri, and Mohsin Nawaz. They remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as civilians including target killings and extortion, according to the ISPR.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the site. A sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
“Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”
