Sandstorm, stormy winds disrupt life in Balochistan’s Chagai

Sandstorm and stormy winds paralysed life in Dalbandin city of the Chagai district in Balochistan on Thursday, while signboards of several shops fell.

Several people were stuck at home due to the change in weather. Heavy rains were reported in the Chegdandak area of the district while low-lying areas in Dorban were inundated by water.

Earlier this week, the Met Office forecasted a new round of rains across the country.

In an advisory, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said that a westerly wave was likely to enter the country on Wednesday night and would grip most of the country on April 26.

Rain is expected to last till April 27 in Balochistan. Noushki, Pishin, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, Chagi, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Sibbi, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Qilla Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Quetta, Ziarat, Shirani and Musa Khel are likely to receive rain from Wednesday to Saturday.
