With a T20 series against New Zealand, just days away, reports have emerged that star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi could sit out the first few matches.
It is not clear how many matches Shaheen could miss, but sources have claimed that he has not officially informed the Pakistan Cricket Board about the decision.
However, PCB is likely to make a statement on the matter soon.
The board believes that it has the final call on how players have to be rotated from the squad.
Shaeen was abruptly removed from T20 captaincy during a recent training camp in Kakul. He was replaced by Babar Azam, who was captain until last year.
The NZ team has already arrived in Pakistan to play five T20s beginning on April 18.
