The Meteorological Department has forecasted the possibility of rainfall in the city starting from Saturday afternoon.
The continuous impact of western winds is affecting the upper regions of the country, as stated by the Meteorological Department.
There is a chance of moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at various locations in the city today, the Meteorological Department said.
The rainfall spell is expected to continue intermittently until the morning of April 15, along with the possibility of gusty winds, it said.
Meteorologist Jawad Memon stated that another system of westerly winds is likely to enter Pakistan on April 17.
Under the influence of this system, thundercells may form in Karachi, leading to additional rainfall, according to Jawad Memon.
There is a possibility of rainfall with thunder and lightning in Karachi on April 18 and 19, as predicted by meteorological analysts.
The city is currently experiencing cloudy conditions and the current temperature is 31 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature may reach up to 35 degrees Celsius.
Winds are blowing from the west at a speed of 13 kilometres per hour, according to the Meteorological Department.
The humidity level in the atmosphere was reported at 54 percent.
Meanwhile, the Air Quality Index suggest Karachi’s air quality has improved in recent days.
Karachi has ranked 24th among the most polluted cities in the world.
