A video obtained by Aaj News shows moments before a truck carrying pilgrims fell into a ravine. The truck was heading towards Dargah Shah Noorani in the Hab area of Balochistan.
The video shows the people happily traveling on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Aaj News obtained footage showing that the group of young individuals was heading towards the Dargah for an Eid pilgrimage, when the truck fell into a ravine turning their joyful trip into a sorrowful one.
The accident resulted in the loss of 17 lives, with 15 of the deceased already identified.
One of the pilgrims, Maqsood Jhokio, said that he and his friends were traveling on the motorcycle with two trucks heading to Noorani, carrying many individuals. As they reached Noorani’s shrine, they received the news that the truck had met with an accident.
The sources have stated that severely injured individuals have been transferred to hospitals.
All the deceased individuals in the truck accident were related to the Salar Jokhio family from the Makli district.
The head of the Edhi Morgue, Saad Idhi, stated that the relatives have reached Karachi and the bodies will be washed and shrouded in Makli before being given to their respective families.
