Letters that threatened judges were written by same person, inquiry finds

A forensic inquiry has found that threatening letters sent to judges in three different courts were actually written by the same person.

The threatening letters sent to judges of the Islamabad High Court, Lahore High Court and Supreme Court had been written under the names Resham, Reshma, and Gulshad.

However, forensic experts have found enough similarities in the letters to conclude that they came from the same source.

Investigations have also revealed that all the letters were sent from the same post office. CCTV footage of the post office has already been acquired and authorities are working with NADRA to identify the person involved.

The police has even concluded that the arsenic powder contained in the letters’ envelopes was brought in the same location.

Police have evn tracked down the store where the chemical was bought and have stated that they are close to finding the perpetrator.
