Pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim are expected to be part of the 18-member squad for the T20 series against New Zealand as the Pakistan Cricket Board completes consultation regarding the selection of final players, sources said on Sunday.
The PCB would announce the squad for the home series on Tuesday. According to sources, the following players would be part of the team: Usman Khan, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Zaman Khan.
Green Shirts would host Black Caps for five T20Is that would begin on April 18. They will tour Ireland for three T20 match series before the World Cup.
They added that only one spinner from Abrar Ahmed and Usama Mir would make it to the final 18. Right-arm fast bowler Haris Rauf would not play the series due to injury.
Agha Salman, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Irfan Niazi, and Abbas Afridi may also be part of the series.
Sources said that an announcement for the head coaches would be announced after April 15 which means local coaches would assist the team in the home series.
