Along with other major changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board such as the ‘reorganization’ of the selection committee, the national team’s captaincy could also be in for a change in the coming weeks.
According to sources, Babar Azam is once again in the running to lead the men’s side. He had stepped down as Pakistan’s all-format captain after a disastrous World Cup campaign last year.
The sources have also claimed that Babar could meet with big wigs in the PCB before he joins the rest of the team for a training camp in Kakul.
The decision on whether to retain Shaheen Shah Afridi as captain is likely to be taken after the team’s training cmap under the army ends.
Babar arrived in Lahore on Tuesday night after performing Umra. Many members of the team have already reached Kakul for the training camp which will last till April 8.
The captain has a seat on the newly organized selection committee as well as the national team coach.
