The Pakistani man doing one of Makkah’s most important jobs

After spending 40 years in the Grand Mosque, a Pakistani expat is currently in charge of one of the holy site’s most important reponsibilities.

In an interview with Saudi Arabia’s Al Ekhbariya, Ghalib Hussain said he is proud to have served Mecca’s Grand Mosque for around 40 years.

He stated that his return to his country is joyous as people show high regard towards him by kissing his palms because of his devotion and dedication at the mosque.

Now, Hussain works as a manager and supervises other workers who distribute Zamzam water to worshippers from all around the world.

He expressed that his family feels proud of his job and his nearness to the Grand Mosque.

He said that his family and other people regularly ask him to pray for them.

The Saudi government has initiated many initiatives to help worshippers perform rituals smoothly. Certain gates are designated for pilgrims to enter and exit to reduce overcrowding.

Along with this, some buses drop pilgrims at a spot far away from the mosque to ensure that the flow of people is smooth.

Umrah is performed highly during Ramadan and other months as well and worshippers move around the Grand Mosque to perform Umrah and offer prayers.
