Islamabad DC denies permission for PTI’s rally on March 30

The Islamabad district commissioner has declined to grant permission for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rally against alleged rigging in the general elections in the federal capital on March 30.

On Sunday, the administration rejected PTI leader Aamir Mughal’s application, citing the permission to stage a public gathering event at the D-Chowk or any other place due to the law and order situation.

It added that the former ruling party had violated the clauses mentioned in the no-objection certificate.

The development comes after the Islamabad High Court ordered the administration to announce its decision within two days. The PTI approached the IHC after the district administration did not respond to its request.

IHC Chief Justice had ordered the DC to submit a report after deciding the matter within two days.

In its application, the PTI urged the court to allow the respondents to allow them to have a rally in the federal capital on March 30.
