An Indian stabbed a woman multiple times in Delhi after claiming that she made fun of him. The man was arrested from the scene despite trying to flee.
The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, regularly came to a library in Mukerjee Nagar to study.
According to police, the attacker, who has been identified as Aman, was the butt of jokes in the area. Many students reportedly called him ‘crazy’ as he was often found wandering around aimlessly.
However, Aman told the police that he was angered after the woman made fun of him, prompting him to attack her.
Police said Aman chased the woman, picking a knife from a fruit seller along the way.
A CCTV video of the incident shows the man aggressively chashing the woman and pushing her down before stabbing her multiple times.
Passers-by eventually came to the help of the woman and held off the man, who managed to flee. He was arrested by police later
Police said that the woman had sustained multiple injuries but was out of danger and will recover soon.
