An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has sent three people involved in the harassment of a woman in Ichhra on a three-day remand.
The accused, identified as Muhammad Nadeem, Adeel Sarwar and Altmash Saqlain, were sent on remand.
The police had sought a 30-day remand by telling the court that they needed to recover weapons from the accused.
However, the court rejected the demand and approved a three-day remand only.
In February, a woman had been surrounded by a mob in Lahore’s Ichhra after she wore a dress with Arabic calligraphy on it.
The mob had claimed that her dress contained verses of the Holy Quran which made her guilty of disrespecting the holy book.
However, the police had managed to hold the crowd at bay while rescuing the woman from shop.
