Nawaz tells PML-N leaders not to test people’s patience amid expected tariff increase

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has wondered how long people’s patience would be tested amid the expected increase in the electricity and gas charges under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package.

The expensive electricity rate issue of small farmers should be resolved, he said while addressing the party’s meeting in Lahore.

He wondered how much the rates of gas and electricity would further be increased in Pakistan on the IMF’s demand.

At the meeting, the party decided to provide solar panels to farmers for running tube wells and sought a detailed plan from the leaders.

Nawaz was of the view that the government’s funds should be invested in such a project.

Maryam Nawaz, who also presided over the meeting, also sought a plan for the subway train project she decided to have metro bus projects in three cities of Punjab.
