Newly-elected President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardai was given a guard of honour upon arriving at the President House on Monday.
Zardari greeted the staff of the president house after the guard of honour. He arrived in a horse-drawn carriage for the cermony.
On Saturday, Zardari was elected the president of Pakistan for the second time after winning the presidential election with 255 votes against PkMAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai who got 119 votes in Parliament.
Born on July 26, 1955, in Karachi, Zardari is the son of Hakim Ali Zardari, a tribal chief and prominent landowner.
He was married to Pakistan’s first female prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
Zardari served as the 11th president of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013 and was the first politician to complete a full term in office. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.
