Arts Council of Pakistan hosts the 5th Women’s Conference

The Arts Council conducted the 5th Women’s Conference on March 7, the eve of International Women’s day. The event brought inspiring women on stage to expound their views on women in society.

The conference included eight sessions beginning with dance performance and musical theater.

President of the Arts Council, Ahmed Shah was part of the event and recited a poem at the opening.

Muniza Shamsi was given a tribute with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award.’

Another session ‘Dil Ki Baat’ featured a heartfelt conversation between Bee Gul, Zubeida Mustafa, Noor-ul-Huda Shah, and Anis Haroon on women. Huda Shah shared her thoughts on women’s rights.

The event also had dance performances by Nighat Choudhry, Sumaira Ali, and Daniya Kanwal.

In ‘The Changing Measure of Success’ session, famous actor, Hiba Bukhari expressed her thoughts on the role of women in society. She shed light on the evolution of society and the changing role of women. She added that women need support in their lives from other individuals close to them.

A musical performance ‘Roop; A Musical Journey’ was also part of the 5th Women’s Conference.

The theater was also performed called Kamla based on the treatment of women by other members of the society.

In another session ‘Hamari Kahaniyan’ Kaif Ghaznavi, Kulsoom Aftab and Sameena Nazir recited poems by famous poets.

The classical dancer Ringhat Chaudhry, also called, Udaan, concluded the session with the famous poem ‘Rang Bikhre.’
