Dacoits in the kuccha area of Punjab have made a massive ransom demand in for the release of an abducted a Rescue 1122 official.
A video of the official, identified as Saleem Hashmi, being held in chains has been sent to his family by the dacoits. He was abducted on February 15.
The dacoits have demanded a ransom of Rs10 million to secure the official’s release. Hashmi is seen requesting the money to be arranged in the video.
Bahawalpur police have registered a complaint against the abduction.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 has written a letter to the Punjab Police asking for them to do everything they can for their official to be recovered.
Hashmi’s colleagues have also started raising funds to pay for his ransom.
