The Punjab government has clarified that it has not suspended arms licences while reacting to reports on different sections of the media.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has not given the order for suspending arms licences in the province, the chief minister’s office spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.
Earlier, different sections of the media claimed that the new provincial government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz made such a decision.
The spokesperson further clarified that no decision has been taken regarding merging all the education boards into the provincial board and Maryam has not given any such order.
Media is required to verify the news before publishing them, it added.
There are as many as 36 district-wise arms licence centres from where intended people have it.
