The price of gold recorded an increase of Rs1,100 and now stands at Rs214,300 per tola for selling on February 20 in Pakistan, compared with the previous rate of Rs213,200/tola.
The price of gold 10 grammes also showed a hike of Rs943 to settle at Rs183,728 in the local market as against the earlier price of Rs182,099.
In the international market, gold prices rose to a near one-week high on Monday as a slight pullback in the US dollar and escalating tensions in the Middle East lifted its safe-haven appeal.
Spot gold was up 0.4% at $2,021.09 per ounce, hitting its highest since Feb. 13 while US gold futures also rose 0.4% to $2,032.40 per ounce.
