A soldier was martyred and at least nine terrorists were killed in two separation operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Saturday.
As many as two terrorists were killed in the Tank district of KP’s Dera Ismail Khan in an intelligence-based operation, it added.
The killed high-value target (HVT) was identified as Rehmat Ullah alias Badar Mansur along with Amjad alias Babri.
The security forces killed seven terrorists in another operation conducted in the South Waziristan district.
“Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area against the security forces as well as extortion and target killing of innocent civilians,” the ISPR said.
However, during the operation, Sepoy Shahzeb Aslam (age 29 years; resident of district Haripur) embraced martyrdom.
“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” according to the ISPR.
