Karachi Literature Festival to begin on Friday with ‘Sustainability’ theme

The 15th Karachi Literature Festival will begin on Friday with the theme ‘Sustainability: Words changing Mindsets’.

The Festival will be organised at the Beach Luxury Hotel in Karachi from February 16 to 18.

“Discussants will throw light on the critical issues of the day that face this city, this country, and this world and seek ways forward. It is not intended to dwell on disorder, violence, and calamities, but to understand them and seek durable remedies,” the KLF said in a statement.

The Festival will include 76 sessions including 25 book launches. In addition, a total of seven awards will also be announced at the opening ceremony.

“This Festival is a testament to the power of the written word and the vital role it plays in shaping our communities,” the festival said.

Friday will feature five sessions including a film screening and a two book launches.

The first session is titled ‘Faiz ki yaad main’ and will feature the legendary poet’s daughter, Moneeza Hashmi.

The second session will be titled ‘How agriculture can save Pakistan’.

The film ‘Gandhi and Jinnah return home’ will be screened while two books, “Timeless College Tales by Nadya Chishty Mujahid” and “Foundations and Form:Memoirs of a Pakistani Architect by Mukhtar Husain” will be launched.
