JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah escaped a terror attack in Chaman city of Balochistan on Wednesday.
Police said that unidentified assailants opened fire on Hamdullah’s vehicle in Maizai area of the province.
The assailants continued to fire rounds at the vehicle for around five minutes, however, the JUI-F leader was unhurt as he was traveling in a blast-proof car.
The attack comes hours after at least 12 people were killed and several injured in a blast that occurred near the JUI-F election office in Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah.
In another attack on Wednesday in Balochistan, 17 people were killed and more than 30 injured after blast ripped through an area near the office of an independent candidate in Pishin.
The attacks come just before the entire country heads to the polls on February 8. The Election Commission of Pakistan has already asked to ensure security remains on high alert.
