In a curious twist of events, Nawaz Sharif and his family will not be able to put their stamps on their party’s tiger symbol.
Nawaz’s votes, as well as the votes of his children Hassan and Hussain are registered in Lahore’s NA-128.
The votes of his brother Shehbaz Sharif and his wife are also registered in the same constituency.
However, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has agreed on a seat-adjustment formula that will lend the party’s support in the constituency to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
Therefore, Nawaz and family will be forced to stamp IPP’s symbol, eagle, from their home constituency.
IPP has fielded Awn Chaudhry as its candidate in NA-128 and a tough contest is expected between him and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Salman Akram Raja.
