The district monitoring officer of the Election Commission of Pakistan served notice to PML-N candidate from NA-127 Attaullah Tarar and PPP candidate on PP-160 Mian Misbah Ur Rehman for allegedly buying votes, a spokesperson said.
“The notices have been served over the issue between PML-N and PPP over buying votes and the attack on election office,” the ECP spokesperson added.
According to him, the district monitoring officer has summoned both candidates on February 5 along with documental evidence.
PMLN candidate from NA-127 Attaullah Tarar on Saturday caught two persons from the election office of PPP in Qainchi Bazaar for allegedly buying votes.
The row started between the former allies a day earlier when Tarar forced his entry into the PPP election office in Qainchi Bazaar and caught two for allegedly buying votes and took the two to the Kot Lakhpat Police Station.
Later, the PPP wrote a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja Tarrar with 300 people attacked PPP candidate’s office in Lahore.
