Although Pakistan did not perform well on the most powerful passports ranking, the citizens of the country can still travel to more than 40 countries without a visa for a limited period under some conditions.
In a recent statement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has a concluded a Visa Abolishment Agreement for Diplomatic and Official Passports holders.
There are as many as 48 countries with whom Pakistan has a visa abolition/exemption agreement as of December 12, 2023, according to a document from the interior ministry. It was shared by journalist Zahid Gishkori on X, formerly called Twitter, on Sunday.
“Three months visa period will be applicable on short term/official business visits and visa for entire period of assignment will be applicable to members of diplomatic/consular missions and their families,” stated a note on the document.
The Pakistani passport was ranked 101st in the Henley & Partners Passport Index while the Indian passport was ranked 80th.
