Ali Zafar to sing Pakistan Super League anthem 2024

Singer-cum-actor Ali Zafar would sing the anthem of Pakistan Super League 2024 season 9, the international cricket league said on Friday.

“Ali Zafar is set to immerse his magic to the official HBL PSL anthem 2024,” the PSL has said in a post on X, formerly called Twitter. They also wrote a line from the league’s first anthem which was also sung by Zafar: Seeti Tou bajay ge.

This would be Rockstar crooner’s fourth song for one of the top cricket leagues in the world. Zafar sang songs for the first three editions of the tournament.

But the trend changed after another Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi accused him of harassment in 2018.

The one-minute video shared by the PSL on YouTube and X showed Zafar playing the tunes of his anthems on the piano.

He would probably be collaborating with Aima Baig who was part of the songs for two editions in 2021 and 2022.

She hinted at the possibility after reacting with an emoji over an entertainment website’s story related to the song in her story on Instagram.

Zafar also reacted to the PSL’s post saying that the stage would be set for the event with his song.

The T20 league will start on February 17 in Lahore, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on Islamabad United in the opening match.

As many as six teams would participate in the 34-match T20I tournament. Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of Qalandars, would be eyeing to make history by winning the title for the third time.
