Gold price inches up to hit Rs214,200/tola

The price of gold recorded an increase of Rs400 to settle at Rs214,200 for selling on January 27 in the local market of Pakistan.

Similarly, gold 10 grammes showed a hike of Rs342 to settle at Rs183,642 against the previous price of Rs183,300.

It is pertinent to mention that gold prices recorded a sharp decline a day earlier owing to a slump in the international gold prices.

On Thursday, gold price declined by Rs1,400 tola to hit Rs213,800 10 grammes of gold also fell by Rs1,200 to Rs183,300.

In the international market, gold prices held in a narrow range on Friday as investors stayed on the sidelines awaiting a key US inflation print later in the day that could set the tone for the Federal Reserve policy meeting next week.

Spot gold was little changed at $2,022.29 per ounce, down 0.3% so far this week. US gold futures rose 0.2% to $2,022.20.
