Pakistan Peoples Party has been granted permission to hold a public rally in Rawalpindi’s Laiquat Bagh as part of its election campaign.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the rally which is scheduled for January 28.
Bilawal has been active on the campaign trail and has toured all four provinces in the lead to general elections. He has also called for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s voters to align themselves with PPP instead of wasting their votes.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has also been granted permission hold a rally at a venue on January 27, where Shehbaz Sharif is expected to make a speech.
Liaquat Bagh was the venue of Benazir Bhutto’s last speech in 2007 before she was assassinated. It is also the venue where Pakistan’s first prime minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, was shot and killed.
