Babar Azam shines with bat to hand his team first win in BPL

Azmatullah Omarzai was all praise for his teammate Babar Azam after the two built a partnership to win a low-scoring match for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League.

“I batted with Babar Azam who is the most experienced player. He is world-class. We were trying to rotate the strike,” the Afghan national player said during the award ceremony after the game.

Riders won their first win in the BPL defeating Sylhet Strikers by four wickets as Azam and Omarzai played unbeaten 56 and 47 runs innings respectively.

Batting first, the Sylhet Strikers posted a total of 120 over the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs in the seventh game of the tournament held at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.

The Riders were also in all sort of trouble in their chase as they were 39-6 at one point.
