The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has decided to call of its sit-in in Islamabad against the issue of missing persons.
Mahrang Baloch announced that participants of the sit-in will begin their journey back to Balochistan on Wednesday.
The Committee has announced that a public rally will be held in Quetta on January 27.
The sit-in had begun in Balochistan on December 6 and had wound its way through Punjab to reach Islamabad on December 20.
However, the protestors faced a brutal crackdown by the police upon their entry in Islamabad, with dozens being arrested.
The detained protestors were released after the case went to the Islamabad High Court.
During the sit-in, Mahrang Baloch had called for a UN investigation into the missing persons issue in Balochistan. She had also said that the government’s new committee was unlikely to bear any fruit, as countless such committees had been formed in the past as well.
