Police in Rawalpindi have arrested nine people for aerial firing at a wedding after they allegedly fired at the police.
The First Information Report (FIR) lodged in Sadiqabad police station under the section of terrorism of the Pakistan penal code, stated that the police held at least nine wedding guests on the violation of laws as they used weapons in public gatherings. The father of the groom was arrested as well.
According to the police, when officials tried to stop the aerial firing, the fireworks and firing actually intensified. Officials said that the suspects fired bullets on the police mobile as well.
Police claimed that they recovered a large number of bullets and guns from the accused and raids were being conducted for arrests of others including the groom.
