According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), during the next 24 hours, the weather will remain cold in most of the plains of the country and cloudy in the northern areas. Fog is expected at some places at times.
In the next two days, the plains will remain under heavy fog, and the day temperature in Punjab will remain below normal, during the last 24 hours the minimum temperature in the country was minus 10 in Skardu, minus 6 in Gilgit, Kalam. Minus 5, Astor, Srinagar minus 4, Rawalakot and Kalat recorded minus 3 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, due to heavy fog, Motorway M2 to Chakri Interchange, M3 to Faizpur to Darkhana, M4 to Abdul Hakeem to Pindi Bhattian Interchange, Gujra Interchange to Faisalabad Interchange and Toba Tek Singh to Shurkot, M5 to Rahim Yar Khan. Traffic was closed from Toll Plaza to Rohri and from Sher Shah to Och Sharif.
Spokesperson Motorway Police said that the motorways are closed to ensure public safety and safe travel, citizens should prefer to travel during the hours of the day, 10 am to 6 pm is the best travel time during foggy weather.
