The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and dry weather across the country and fog is expected to prevail in the plain areas.
According to the Met Office, the weather will remain cold in Balochistan, upper Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and fog is likely to prevail in plain areas of the said provinces.
As per the advisory, Karachi will witness freezing temperatures in an ongoing week.
The Met Office recorded a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius in Karachi on Wednesday and it is expected to decline further to 10 degrees Celsius within 48 hours.
On the other hand, Islamabad, Murree, Gilyat, and surrounding parts will witness chilly and dry weather. Meanwhile, smog is likely to prevail in Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Okara, Qasoor, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Jehlum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha Mandi Bahaudding, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal, Multan, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Hafizabad.
Some areas of the country also witnessed rain on Tuesday, causing cold weather. The highest downpour was recorded in Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan with 2 mm of rain.
