No Pakistani cricketer was nominated in any category of the International Cricket Council (ICC) annual awards 2023 on the back of a disappointing year in all three formats of the game.
The ICC revealed the nominees for Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2023 having Australia’s Travis Head, India’s Virat Kohli and his countryman Ravindra Jadeja and Aussie skipper Pat Cummins.
Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam secured both ODI and Cricket of the year trophies at the ICC’s annual awards 2022.
The nominees for ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year 2023 included Ravichandran Ashwin of India, Aussie batters Travis Head and Usman Khawaja and England’s Joe Root.

India’s Shubman Gill, Mohammad Shami and Virat Kohli along with New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell were nominated for ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023.
Suryakumar Yadav of India, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, Alpesh Ramjani from Uganda and Mark Chapman of New Zealand were named nominees for ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023.
It is pertinent to mention that Mohammad Rizwan won the ICC Men’s T20I cricketer of the year award 2022.
ICC Emerging Men’s Cricketer of the Year nominees included New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal, South Africa’s Gerald Coetzee and Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka.
