The price of gold declined by Rs1,300 to settle at Rs220,000 per tola for January 4, compared with the previous price of Rs221,300 in Pakistan, the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.
Similarly, the price of 10 grammes of gold was down by Rs1,115 to settle at Rs188,614 per 10 grammes compared with the earlier price of Rs189,729.
The price of 10 grammes 22 karat gold clocked-in at Rs172,897, as against the price of Rs173,918 a day earlier.
Meanwhile, the price of per tola and 10 grammes silver remained unchanged at Rs2,680 and Rs2,297.66, respectively.
In the international market, gold prices slipped to their lowest in a week on Wednesday as the dollar firmed, while investors looked ahead to the release of minutes from the Federal Reserve’s latest policy meeting and US jobs data for more clarity on potential interest rate cuts.
Spot gold was down 0.3% to $2,053.10 per ounce while US gold futures were down 0.5% to $2,062.20 per ounce.
