In a first for Pakistan, Sindh government has decided to begin issuing licenses for teachers in the province.
The licenses will be offered to teachers who have completed a 4-year B.Ed degree and will be be issued after passing a test.
The government will issue the licenses through the Sindh Testing Services and has sent out a call for applications. The last date for applying has been set for January 11.
Successful applicants will be eligible for elementary teaching positions in grade-16.
Caretaker Education Minister Raina Hussain said that the scheme had been introduced to improve the capacity of teachers in the province.
