The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and dry mornings for Karachi as the city will likely experience a cold sea breeze.
On Saturday, 16 degrees Celsius minimum temperature has been recorded in the metropolitan.
According to the advisory, the maximum temperature is expected to rise to 28 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
The winds are blowing from the northeastern with a speed of seven kilometers per hour and are expected to be 33 kilometers per hour in the afternoon.
On the other hand, the weather in Islamabad will remain cold and partly cloudy, said the advisory.
The daytime temperatures are expected to remain warmer but nights may be colder in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and adjoining areas of Kashmir and Potohar region, it added, the said areas might witness light downpours.
In a weather outlook for January 2024, the Met Office predicted that the Punjab and upper Sindh plains are expected to be intense foggy. However, rainfall is expected in most parts of the country in the next month.
On the other hand, the Air Quality Index (AQI) indicates the poor wind quality in Karachi with 180 unhealthy particles in the air Karachi has been reported as the world’s ten most polluted city while India’s capital Dehli is at the top on the index with 251 unhealthy particles in the air.
It should be noted that an index of 151 to 200 is hazardous for health.
