SC must admit its crime in murdering Bhutto: Bilawal

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Tuesday that it was time for the judiciary to admit that it made the crime of murdering Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Adressing a workers convention in Gujranwala, Bilawal said that history had already cleared Bhutto and the people of Pakistan had already exonerated him by welcoming his daughter and electing her to power.

He added that now it was time for the court to wash the bloodstains off its hands by declaring Bhutto innocent in the presidential reference.

Bilawal said that Bhutto would get justice through the support of the people, the reference filed by Asif Zardari and the ‘bravery’ of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Bilawal’s comments came hours after the Supreme Court of Pakistan took up the Bhutto reference on Tuesday after 11 years.

The court has appointed nine amici curiae to assist the proceedings. The proceedings of the reference were livestreamed.

Bilawal also told workers in Gujranwala that the time had ended for ‘old’ politicians and the youth must now take its place.

He added that the PPP was not competing with any political party but with unemployment, inflation and povery
