The Balochistan High Court on Monday ordered the suspension of four officials of the Counter Terrorism Department Makran in a case related to the alleged extrajudicial killing of a Baloch youth.

A two-member bench comprising Balochistan Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Nazeer Ahmed Langove announced the reserved verdict on a Balochistan government petition challenging the judgment of a session court in which it ordered to file a first information report against CTD officials.

An FIR was filed on December 9 against several CTD officials for the alleged fake encounter of Balach Baloch in Turbat. The complainant alleged that his son was abducted by unidentified people on October 29 and was kept at an undisclosed location.

He went on to claim that CTD investigation officer Abdullah on November 21 produced his son before a session judge in Turbat who approved a 10-day judicial remand of Balach and two days later he was informed that his son along with three others was killed in a “fake encounter.”

The court ordered the suspension of CTD Turbat SHO Abdul Ahad, Regional Officer CTD Makran Adil Amir, Investigation Officer Abdullah, and the Lockup in-charge.

The court said that it was appraised about the booking of the four accused before it announced its verdict.

Turbat city police station Inspector Noor Bakhsh has been appointed investigation officer in the case, it added.

The court ordered to hand over the FIRs filed on the complaint of the victim’s father Maula Bakhsh to the Crimes Branch police.

The DIG Crimes Branch police was ordered by the court to constitute a team comprising senior officials to investigate the FIRs.
