Information minister says election date set for Feb 8 and there should be no doubt about it

Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has expressed satisfaction that the country is heading towards economic stability.

The Information Minister said general elections will be held on the 8th of February and there should be no doubt about it.

Addressing a news conference along with Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai in Quetta today, he pointed out that the Pakistan Stock Exchange crossed sixty-six thousand points today during trading, while the dollar also depreciated.

Quoting the report of Bloomberg, the Minister said Pakistan is on the agenda of IMF board on the eleventh of next month.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the country. He said it is our responsibility to extend full facilitation to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Responding to a question, the Information Minister said the state media will be modernized and its capacity will be increased.

He expressed confidence that the state media would come at par with the world’s best broadcasters and its future is not bleak, but bright.
