Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has welcomed British High Commissioner Jane Marriott today at his residence and discussed the return of Afghan refugees, including the education of women in Afghanistan.
In a meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that those who are concerned about the education of women and children in Afghanistan should pay attention to the women and children of Gaza where human rights are being violated.
According to a statement issued by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott called on the JUI-F chief and they both discussed national and international policy issues.
Talking to the British High Commissioner, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he is in favor of women’s education, but keeping in mind the Islamic and Pashtun background of Afghanistan, the government there is creating an environment for women’s education.
He said that peace and security in Afghanistan is gradually improving with which the problems will also be resolved.
JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman advised the international community to improve relations with Afghanistan and resolve the issues through mutual understanding. He told the British High Commissioner that those concerned about the education of women and children in Afghanistan should pay attention to the women and children of Gaza where human rights are being violated.
