The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday issued no-objection certificates (NOC) to fast bowlers Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, and leg-spinner Usama Mir for the Big Bash League 2023-24.
“The PCB understands that this decision is in the best interests of all the stakeholders involved while balancing the importance of game time with workload management,” the PCB said in a statement.
The board has issued the NOCs considering the workload of players and the future tours programme of the national men’s team, it added.
Rauf and Mir were granted NOCs for a total of five matches whereas Khan was granted NOC for four matches. All these games are set to take place from December 7 to 28.
The announcement came days after Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team’s Director Mohammad Hafeez said that the PCB will soon issue a new NOC policy for allowing national cricketers to participate in league cricket.
“When you are offered [PCB] central contract, there is a strong reason for it that you are available for Pakistan’s future tour programmes in all three formats,” he said during a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday.
