PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan on Friday dodged questions on the alleged audio that revealed a rift between Bushra Begum and Khan’s sisters.
“I have not heard the audio. I was told that it was a chat between Bushra Begum and lawyer Latif Khosa. The talk between a lawyer and client is confidential which should not be leaked,” she told journalists outside Islamabad High Court in Islamabad.
The audio clip contained the recording of an alleged phone call between Bushra Begum and Khosa where she can be heard complaining of an argument with Khan’s sister.
Khan went on to add that Nawaz Sharif was given instant relief from the IHC while the verdicts on her brother’s cases were reserved for months.
“Our brother’s case should not be heard by this court,” she said.
The former PM’s sister agreed with Khosa’s statement in which he said that Khan would remain the leader and chairman of the party.
“I think Khan formulated a backup plan keeping in mind that the court might not overturn his conviction. It is an internal matter of the party,” she said while reacting to the nomination of Barrister Gohar Khan as PTI chief.
She brushed aside speculations of any change in party policies, saying that Barrister Khan was the PTI chief’s lawyer and spokesperson. “There is nothing to panic.”
