The Election Commission of Pakistan published the final list of constituencies across the country on Friday, almost two months before the general elections that are scheduled to be held on February 8.
Under Article 51(5) of the Constitution and Section 17 of the Elections Act 2017, delimitation was conducted based on population determined in the Digital Population Housing Census-2023. The results were published by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on August 7.
The preliminary report and list of constituencies for the National and provincial assembly was prepared by following principles of the delimitation of constituencies set out in Section 20 (appointment of delimitation authority) of the Election Act, 2017.

Elections in Pakistan are scheduled to be held on February 8, 2023, as political parties woo voters. The caretaker setup has assured the ECP of providing support in organising elections.
But the PTI has expressed concerns over the treatment “meted out” to its leadership and workers since the violent protests that broke out on May 9 when party chairman Imran Khan was first arrested.
On Thursday, PTI Chairman Khan wrote a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and sought the protection of the party’s fundamental rights.
