A host and actor Sahir Lodhi termed ‘condescending’ the tag on his resemblance with Shah Rukh Khan instead of ‘compliment’ and added that people who used to resemble him with SRK did not recognize his work.
Speaking with Ahmed Ali Butt in his podcast ‘Excuse Me’, Sahir reminisced about his meeting with Shah Rukh Khan after which a storm of memes “Sahir Lodhi & look like a Sahir Lodhi” had emerged.
Sahir said: “If you couldn’t see my work in 18 years then you are unable to see me at all.”
He said: “I don’t think… our genres are completely different. He acts, I’ve always done hosting,” Lodhi said of their different yet similar careers.
Talking about his look and voice he said: “This is not my fault that I resemble him.”
Sahir Lodhi also applauded Shah Rukh’s personality and said: “he is a great man. When I met him, we hugged and we smiled and he said, ‘You’re a very good-looking man,’ and I said, ‘So are you sir.’
“Shah Rukh is a man who is deeply connected with his soul”, he added.
