What is the meaning of word ‘Dunki’? Shah Rukh Khan explains

Shah Rukh Khan explained the reason behind the title of his upcoming movie ‘Dunki’ and said the film tells the story of immigrants who use “Donkey Flights” to travel abroad.

Speaking for the first time about the Rajkumar Hirani film Dunki, actor Shah Rukh Khan was honoured at the Red Sea International Film Festival’s second edition opening ceremony.

SRK unveiled that the English title of the movie would be “Donkey”. The reason it’s called Dunki is because some Indians pronounce Donkey as Dunki, adding “In English, my film would be called Donkey, it is Donkey,” he stated.

King Khan acclaimed director of the movie Mr. Raju Hirani, one of the most talented in his profession. Abhijat Joshi, a very talented writer, is the author.

“It is a story of the people who want to come back home… when you finally get the calling and it’s a comic film,” he added.

According to Shah Rukh Khan ‘Dunki’ is anticipated to draw attention to the widespread usage of the “Donkey Flight” illegal backdoor by Indian immigrants to get to the USA and Canada.

Shah Rukh Khan also made it clear that Rajkumar Hirani’s odd film Dunki blends humour and sentimentality. It’s a comedy movie, he continued. Rajkumar Hirani’s films are always about the nation and combine humour and strong feelings. It is a long journey film that travels to many parts of the world before returning to India at the end.

Before this, Hirani directed movies including PK, Sanju, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. In his next film, Dunki, which he is also directing, Taapsee Pannu plays a crucial role. The planned delivery date is December 2023.

Shah Rukh Khan had already declared his confidence in Dunki’s box office success. SRK expressed his confidence that his three future films, Pathaan, Dunki, and Jawan, would be huge hits during the Sharjah International Book Festival. He declared, “I don’t think I need to be nervous; they’re all going to be hugely successful movies.”
