Captain of Bangladesh’s cricket team Shakib Al Hasan has confirmed that he is running for the upcoming election in Bangladesh.
The ruling party of Bangladesh Awami League has reportedly confirmed Shakib Al Hasan’s nomination and that the player will run in the general elections on January 7 of next year.
Local media reports state that Shakib al Hasan, who has not yet been informed of his return to cricket, will compete from his home district of Magura 1.
It should be mentioned that Shakib Al Hasan suffered a finger injury during the World Cup match against Sri Lanka.
After playing New Zealand in a two-match home Test series, Bangladesh is set to tour the country.
Bangladesh will participate in six white-ball series matches between December 11 and 31.
