A shopping mall in Karachi on Rashid Minhas Road caught fire, killing multiple people and critically injuring a number of others.
During rescue operations, volunteers from different rescue agencies started fighting over where to take them, putting injured people’s lives in danger.
According to the volunteers from Chhipa said that one of the victims was on their stretcher and we were taking him. However, volunteers from Rescue 1122 responded that the victim needed oxygen; and Chhipa ambulance did not not have access to oxygen in their ambulance.
In the end, the injured firefighter was taken against his will to the hospital and placed in an ambulance with no oxygen available.
The volunteer says that the victim was forcibly taken in an ambulance without oxygen, this action is not aid, but putting a person’s life at risk.
