The lockdown has been imposed in 10 districts of Punjab to control smog.
All private and government educational institutions in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Sahiwal and Sargodha divisions will remain closed today on Saturday.
Markets in all cities will open at 3 pm and all types of business will have to be closed on Sundays.
On Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired the meeting to review the situation of smog in the province as Lahore city once again ranks first among the most polluted cities globally.
The meeting decided that Friday and Saturday would be declared as holidays in educational institutions. In addition, markets will not be allowed to open before 3 pm on Saturday. The rules will apply to gyms and restaurants as well.
