The inquiry commission in Faizabad sit-in has summoned former IG of Punjab Captain Arif Nawaz Khan (Retd) and former CPO Rawalpindi Israr Ahmad Abbasi on November 27.
Both officials were on duty in 2017 when TLP held its sit-in Islamabad.
The commission also summoned former IG Islamabad Khalid Khattak and chief commissioner of Islamabad.
Sources said that Deputy Secretary Interior Muhammad Ayaz has been appointed as the secretary of the commission. A letter has been sent to the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to obtain the video records of the Faizabad sit-in.
The inquiry commission was formed under the chairmanship of retired IG Akhtar Ali Shah in the case after the Supreme Court rejected the fact-finding committee report of the government.
On November 15, Justice Qazi Faez remarked that the commission would be able to summon ex-army chiefs, prime ministers and chief justices as well.

A three-member bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa conduct hearing on the Faizabad sit-in case on November 15. The bench included Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aminuddin Khan as well.
The Faizabad sit-in commission on November 20 decided to seek video record from the PEMRA regarding the 2017 sit-in, sources said.
Former Inspector General of Police Akhtar Ali Shah chaired the meeting in Islamabad which sought all records related to the events surrounding the Faizabad sit-in and the inquiry reports, they added.
